  1. I have a white 2pac small kitchen with black granite bench tops we did so it’s stands out as weave a huge verandah over the kitchen so not a huge amount of light

  2. Very interesting. The increase in drawers is something I’ll have to give thought too. We are going to be remodeling our kitchen at some point which I’m really excited about but we want to make sense of it as best we can. I’m grateful it’s not the world’s smallest kitchen- 10×10 w/ some extra space to play with where there is a current pantry. Definitely have seen smaller and helped a friend w/ a tiny kitchen reorganize her space to give her counter space. Counter space makes my brain very happy. Our kitchen still feels rather small though sometimes when I’m trying to cook for a lot of people which I’m the old fashion type with a passion for cooking from scratch and setting out the good dishes at holidays.

I moved back in with my Dad after my Grandparents passed – I was their full time caregiver so that became my home and my grandmother’s kitchen my learning ground for cooking and figuring out what I really loved to work with appliance and utensil wise. I loved the setup of it and their home in general. When I moved back our kitchen felt smaller, crowded and drove me nuts. I figured out new places for large appliances that used to live on counter tops and freed up my mind a lot and made the space more usable. Our microwave lives in our newly added mudroom though I don’t use the thing personally anyway for anything other than storage. Give me my small convection oven, regular oven, stovetop and instant pot cooking wise and I’m happy. The microwave is around because my Dad likes to use it now and again. I like the storage hack ideas of the niches for things. We are going to get some professional opinions on our kitchen but trying to get ahead of the game so I can have ideas of what I’d really like to have verses what would not be so important so we can make the best decisions.

  3. When you make deep deawers the containers cantauners can place down and label the too so you know whats in the container. Label from the top is so efficient

  4. Very inspiring , beneficial and educational video. So happy I found your video. Thank you so much for sharing all the details and different layouts. !

  5. Really like the idea of a cubby for the microwave. So it seems there are 5 options for microwave oven placement in a kitchen: 1) over the range, 2) built-in wall, 3) sitting on the countertop, 4) range-microwave combo, and 5) cubby.

  6. Just a thought maybe using one of those toekick drawers to store a stepstool to gain access to the taller cabinets

  7. When you were talking about above the cupboards, I thought breadbox style containers would be good up there… you know the ones with the rounded drawers that slide into themselves? If they all matched you could set the up there and easily get into them without having to take the boxes down, but also “hide” everything away.

  8. You explain things very well. Thank you for helping me once again! I just subscribe to your channel

  9. We are building a saltbox style house in Massachusetts, your kitchen guides are great to watch for tips on designing our kitchen. x

  10. I love this video. The info was very usefull. I’ve downsized and this piece of advice was just what I needed. Now I’m going to watch the rest of your videos. Thank you so much for sharing ❤

  11. I Sooo Love Albert, he is adorable, you are a HERO for this baby, if it wasn’t for you he might not be here to enjoy life, and enjoy the love you share with him, this shows the love and kindness in your heart. Thank You for being his HERO. I just want to send you a quick little hug to thank you for being his everything, my virtual hug to you OOO. THANK YOU!

  12. I’m late to comment but currently neck deep in a neverending small 100 sq ft kitchen diy remodel. Here’s my newest ideas: We’re removing 2 upper cabinets and replacing them with open shelving that will add several more usable feet as they’ll be L shaped and higher. We’re upcycling those 2 cabinets, repainting, putting casters and topping with butcherblock to form a rolling work station in an area not big enough for a regular depth cabinet. Doing the same in another area with 2 other upper cabinets in an area we cant put a regular kitchen cabinet due to a large low window. (100 yr old house) Then upgrading to new upper cabinets but putting them to the ceiling which will allow for a floating shelf to go under the bottom for frequently used aesthetically pleasing cooking items so my counter is clear. Then replacing lower cabinets with drawer cabinets. We’re also downgrading in size to a small microwave/air fryer/ convection oven combo. We’re saving money by buying a few used cabinets at the Habitat restore and refacing them ourselves. Our new high end flooring came from there too, saving us $700. Anything new will be our biggest cost. Our new high end "dream" appliances all came from fb marketplace at a fraction of the cost. Bouji on a budget for this wanna be gourmet cook lolol. Love your videos!

  13. I like the idea of not purchasing a lot., but buy small amount for the small kitchen. My kitchen is small so I am taking in the ideas. I would like to make derp drawers to put containers and label the top so I don’t have to move and draw out from the back. I. Drawer I can read the too and take out

  14. Seeing this video warmed my heart for little Albert. Such a sweet little soul ❤. I also wanted to put my 2 cents in about my small kitchen. I sold the bar stools i never really liked and used the money to collect and thrift different carts and shelves that fit under the counter. Now i can display my vintage pyrex and have more storage!

  15. Ooh aw albert is precious x u know this is my first comment on yr channel lol cnt help it seeing albert

  16. We are adding a kitchen in the basement for an ADU. We will have one large toe-kick drawer. We’re going with a microwave with exhaust fan. We’ll have an 18" dishwasher, 30 inch counter depth fridge, a 30 inch wall oven. The most controversial choice is we are not having a cooktop so that we have more counter space; instead we will have a portable induction hob, which we’ll store in the toe-kick drawer when not in use.
